In this first video, Deadmaus5, aka Joel Zimmerman, takes us on a tour around his beautiful new in-home studio, that was clearly custom created to suit his needs. He takes us through all of his gear, showing off just some of the toys he’s accumulated over the years as a successful EDM Producer, including a massive Eurorack modular synth, the classic ARP 2500 and a sweet selection of Moog’s. With this studio, if you can dream it, he’s probably got it, including some pretty bad-ass perfect acoustics, as he goes on to explain in the video.

To go along with the studio tour, he also breaks down some of the melodic elements from his track ‘Imaginary Friends’, alongside friend Steve Duda. Pretty interesting insight into the creation of one of Deadmau5’s tracks, and he gives some pretty good examples and descriptions on his creative process and his thoughts on various plug-ins and melodic ideas.
